Vintage Art Deco Sapphire & Diamond Ring 14k Yellow Gold

Description

This wonderful authentic Art Deco ring features an approximately 2.5 carat lab created sapphire cabochon (often used in Art Deco period) and accented by 4 single cut diamonds. The sapphire has a beautiful bright color with no abrasions. The diamonds are prong set and surrounded by millegrain detail. I bought this ring decades ago as a natural sapphire. I brought it recently to a GIA graduate gemologist who said she thought the stone was natural but a second gemologist felt sure it was lab created. Lab created stones were often used in the Art Deco period and although they are still considered sapphires, they aren't natural stones mined from the ground. No one but a gemologist and his equipment will ever know this is a lab created stone! The diamonds are natural. I've priced this classic Art Deco ring accordingly.
The cabochon was difficult to photograph - the shadows and light areas are reflection from the lights or camera.
