    Description

This two handled cup is 10 1/2" tall, with a handle to handle length of 8 3/4", a diameter at top of cup of 5 1/8" and at bottom of cup of 4 1/2".  It weighs 768 grams, or almost 25 ounces.
This two handled cup has on one side a crest with a downturned shell above three feathers in a Fleur-di-Lis, similar to the Prince of wales armorial.  In addition, this cup is after decorated with the engraved figures of four neoclassical women.  On one side the women are more fully clothed in decorated robes (one with Greek key design in fabric) and are holding objects in their hands-- coins, basket, tablet or disc?  On the other side,  the same engraved women, semi nude but in the same robes, with hair down so to speak.  I'd love to know what the story behind this engraving is.
The top rim has an engraved band of patterned decoration, and the base has an engraved band reminiscent of waves.
Marked on the bottom for  Walter & Patrick Cunningham, Edinburgh, Scottish sterling 1795 and for the Monarch's duty tax.
